It is with great sadness that Uni Blues announces the tragic passing of James “Jimmy” Westmore.
A memorial service will be held on Friday 6th March at the Pavvy, Melbourne University Oval from midday.
Jimmy was a third generation blues player following in the footsteps of his grandfather in the 1940s, and his father, Gerry, in the 1970s and 1980s.
Jimmy came to Blues in 2005 when he commenced studying Law at Melbourne Uni and quickly made a name for himself as an accomplished small forward. He went on to play over 50 games in the coming years in between studies and travel.
Post graduation, Jimmy continued his studies and was admitted to the bar where he was forging a strong career and reputation.
Jimmy will always be remembers for his quick with and infectious smile and will be sadly missed around the Pavvy.
