During the week, the 6 major Melbourne Metropolitan Football Leagues (Western Region, Essendon District, Northern League, Eastern League, Southern League and the Victorian Amateurs) met to discuss the resumption of football across the whole region for the 2020 season.
At the conclusion of the discussion it has been agreed to leave the original date and plan of no activity in place until 31 May. This means that there will be no resumption of training or playing until after that time.
Subsequently, the leagues will be meeting in approx 4 weeks time (Mid May) to revisit the strategy and plan around the resumption.
In the meantime, the players are continuing to maintain their fitness and condition so that we are in the best possible position when the resumption is announced. Also, we are considering the various impacts on the club, both socially and financially so that we too, are ready to put our best foot forward come the resumption. In this time of uncertainty, please don’t take any unnecessary risks and stay safe.
