Seniors - Overcome Plucky Hoers & Seal Their Fate
Old Ivanhoe came into today's game needing to win to avoid relegation. Uni Blues came into it looking to hold onto fourth spot. At the end of the game, the class of the Blues came to the fore despite Ivanhoe's gallant effort. Uni Blues started the game well and came in at quarter time with a handy lead. However, the Hoers stepped up their defensive efforts in the second quarter and continually denied the Blues chances on goal. The third quarter was very even and the Blues went into three quarter time only 3 goals up. Ivanhoe had a sniff, especially when they kicked the first of the final quarter. The Blues rallied and went on to win by 25 points and give themselves every chance of making the final four. Jack Watts had his best game since returning from overseas and won the UCLA t-shirt for his display of contested marking, ruckwork, and 4 goals. The backline of Andrew Solly, Al Austin, Matt Torney and John Meagher was rock solid and they combined to run the ball from defence and set up attacks. Mick Lewis' left boot got a work out, while Dave Paton had the radar working with 3 goals and Mick Steinbach kicked two trademark running goals. The win keeps the Blues in the four with a must-win game at Scotch next week.

Reserves - Keep On Rolling With Big Win
It is very hard to stop the Mighty Uni Blues Twos as Old Ivanhoe found out on a beautiful day at the Main Oval. The Blues won every quarter and continually looked to improve their entire game as they waltzed to a 83 point win. As always, it was an even team effort with all players contributing and 11 players kicking goals. Coach Gunga, who was ably assisted by Supercoach Granleese, has a selection headache over the next couple of weeks as there are no weak links in this impressive side. Captain-for-the-day Tom Pryde set a great example all game with his attack on the ball and tackling in the forward 50. He was rewarded with some fine marks and 4 goals. Brant Laidlaw found plenty of the ball and used it to advantage with many inside 50s. Tim Muhlebach is a delight for on-ballers to play with as his ruckwork is first-rate and he provides his runners with first use every time. Alex Suvoltos kicked 2 goals early while Liam Quin, John Wood and Tom Stainforth kicked 2 goals each in the last quarter. As always, any number of players could have been in the best and the Blues go into next week's encounter at Old Scotch with a head full of steam.

Under 19 - Go Down But Seal Finals Berth
Uni Blues Under 19s had their first loss for a number of weeks at the hands of second-placed Old Xaverians. It matters not, as results fell the Blues' way and they finished the home-and-away season in fourth position. It was a relatively low-scoring affair, especially for the Blues, as the wind on the Crawford Oval made kicking goals tricky. Xavs dealt with the conditions better and found their way through the big sticks 12 times to run out 39 point winners. Hugh Vickers-Willis continued his good form and Llewyn Butler also played a great game. Ollie Robertson provided a big presence around the ground, rucked well and took some solid marks. Tom Fairbairn and Tom Maddocks also tried valiantly to lift the team, and Jared Edwards played one of his better games for the year. In a nice piece of symmetry, the Unders take on Old Scotch next week in an elimination final. Matt Embling will be planning all week to overcome Scotch, and the players will be quietly confident as they beat Old Scotch only a couple of weeks ago. Finals football is here for the Blues' Under 19s and the players will be pumped up and excited all week.
